Thanks for the comments everyone. I wanted to respond to the conspiracy theory from Chris and Dr. No's credit card issue.

Chris, we are headquartered in Madison and have received a lot of early adoption here (we recently were featured on the front page of the Wisconsin State Journal for example). Thus, our user base includes a very high percentage of users from Madison, which creates a higher likelihood that someone from Madison will be the top deal. I expect this will change as we diversify our user base. Just for the record, we have a very strict policy that employees and their families are NOT allowed to participate and we keep the amount remaining for each auction extremely confidential.

Dr. No, we authorize credit cards at Jellyfish for the Smack deal, but we do NOT actually charge the amount authorized. Any authorized amounts showing on the credit card from Jellyfish will be removed, typically within a day or two. To minimize any concern and limit the short term impact of this authorization, we are also changing our policy today to authorize only a .50 amount on Smack orders rather than the entire purchase price (to confirm the card is valid).

Thanks for your comments! We hope to see you today at lunch.

The system is extremly buggy still. One of which is causes Jellyfish to charge a persons credit card even if the order does not go through.

My bro got an error that his credit card information was not valid, even though it was, and now he has multiple $300+ charges on his card for each time he tried to correct the "error".

Is there any reason that the person receiving the most money back each day since the deal of the day started was from Madison, WI? Hmm, this got me thinking, so I looked at where Jellyfish.com was located. Madison, WI.

Either the company forces the auction to end by purchasing the last item or someone at the company tells someone they know that they know in Madison when to buy.

Can someone with the company explain this?

Kind of makes you question the whole system?

Awesome guys. I saw this on techcrunch and thought its like a Woot off! but with more interest. Those Woot off's are crazy sometimes so im sure this will be good. It will be nice once you get some more suppliers so that there will always be a smack going on. Im glad I came around this site and im sure I will be back. Ive already told 3 people about this!
