RoboMower features a battery powered three blade, 53cm (21 inch) powerful lawn-cutting system, which is the equivalent to a standard 5.5HP gas, powered walk behind mower. RoboMower is a dedicated mulching lawn mower that mulches much better than any traditional mower thanks to its Triple-Chamber-Mulching system and the 5800-rpm blade speed which doubles the blade speed of typical gas mowers. How does the RoboMower Work? RoboMower requires a one time simple set-up, which can be easily done by anyone. Installation: A standard electric perimeter wire (sort of like an invisible dog fence) is laid around the outer edges of the lawn, and attached to the surface of the lawn with plastic pegs every few meters. The wire and pegs are supplied with your new RoboMower safely packed in the same box (additional wire and pegs are available through PcPowerZone). The perimeter guide wire is then connected to a small battery powered Perimeter Switch which comes with each RoboMower. This will produce a small amount of current in the perimeter wire that RoboMower can see with a special sensor to tell RoboMower where he can't mow. Usually, this perimeter wire will be covered with grass and not visible to the naked eye within 2-3 weeks depending on lawn conditions. Pressing the green "GO" button on the unit operates RoboMower. RoboMower will travel on the lawn in a systematic criss-cross pattern covering the lawn several times from side to side to ensure that the entire yard is covered and that your grass is cut from several angles. With the RL1000 and its Docking Station, it's even easier to use! After completing the one-time set-up of perimeter wire around the lawn including the Docking Station, set the weekly program (mowing scheduler) and forget about mowing for the entire season!
