Jellyfish announces the hiring of Tom Roach as Vice President of Brand Planning. With 20+ years’ experience in some of the world’s best communications agencies, Tom is one of the most awarded advertising strategists in the world, with multiple Gold IPA Effectiveness awards to his name. With an industry-wide reputation for championing the commercial impact of marketing communication and the value of creativity, his thought leadership is widely read and shared across the marketing world.

He moves to Jellyfish from adam&eveDDB, Campaign Magazine’s Agency of the Decade, where he was Executive Strategy Director and Head of Effectiveness and worked alongside ‘Godfather of Effectiveness’ Les Binet. Prior to that he spent seven years at BBH London, three at Leo Burnett and ten at AMV BBDO.

I couldn’t be more excited to be joining Jellyfish where I’ll be drawing on my experience in pureplay creative agencies to help make our work perform even better. I’ll also be building on my previous work around marketing effectiveness, and helping our clients achieve long-term sustainable growth. Jellyfish have huge ambitions, are growing fast and building an incredible company. As a digital partner that drives brand performance across the entire modern marketing landscape I don’t think there’s anyone out there that can match them. There’s so much I can learn here, especially around getting brand and performance marketing working better together. The opportunity to work here was one I couldn’t turn down.

In his new role, Tom joins a growing team of brand and communications strategists at Jellyfish. He will lead Jellyfish’s position on brand performance – bridging the divide between brand and performance marketing thinking and practice to deliver more effective marketing for clients. He will work across the global client portfolio, with an emphasis on communications strategies that bring brand and creative thinking to Jellyfish’s digital-first execution, and will report into James Parker, Chief Solutions Officer, Data & Planning.

I’m excited for Tom to bring his extraordinary breadth of experience and his keen strategic vision into our team at Jellyfish. The industry is going through another cycle of change but history tells us creative thinking is always the differentiating factor for the winning brands” Parker said.
